SAFEGUARDING

Wenlock Olympians is committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of all its members, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for all.  All those involved in club activities including steering/committee members, helpers/volunteers, Club Officers and athletes are required to show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of club members.

Club Officers and Committee members are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns or complaints that they may have about any aspect of the club with other members of the committee. The club has a designated Welfare Officer, to whom any concerns/questions can be raised in the first instance.

How to Raise a Concern About a Child/Young Person:

If there is no immediate risk to a child or young person, then please contact your club welfare officer in the first instance. The Club’s Welfare officer at the current time is: Anne Robinson.

The procedures outlined in section 3 of the UK Athletics and HCAF Child Safeguarding Procedures will be followed in the event of any concern being raised regarding the welfare of a child or young person. Please Note: If you feel there is an immediate risk to a child or young person you should also contact the police/ambulance as necessary.

All members agree to abide by the Club Constitution and Codes of Conduct when they join the club and each year when subscriptions are renewed. Individual club members, parents and helpers/volunteers are therefore encouraged to read the codes of conduct that apply to them.
